Gloria Sanchez McDowell
Gloria Sanchez McDowell is a proud Arizona native who joined the Buckeye Elementary School District team in August 2023. With extensive experience in community engagement and supporting cities and schools initiatives; she is a bridge builder who excels in public relations, communications and community outreach efforts. With over 25 years in the public sector—including Community Services, Social Services, Human Services, and Education—Gloria brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as Director of Communications and Community Engagement for BESD.
In addition to serving on the Education Foundation Board for Buckeye Elementary School District, Gloria is also a board member of All Faith Community Services, and an active member of WESTMARC’s Education & Workforce Development Committee. She has also completed the City of Buckeye Civic Institute's Citizen Leadership Program (Class of 2024) and is a member of Leadership West Class XXXI (2025). Gloria is deeply committed and rooted to nonprofit work, supporting initiatives that uplift communities and provide essential resources to those in need. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Northern Arizona University, and a Master’s in Public Administration in Government and Public Policy from Grand Canyon University.
